Why Should We Use Dental Floss?

In addition to brushing your teeth regularly from the point of view of dental health, dental floss is also used extensively today. Along with the advantages it provides, proper use is also of great importance in terms of dental floss. Along with regular brushing, bleeding gums decreases when flossing. In other words, flossing is important for gum health. When we protect our gum health, we also protect our dental health. This is why flossing is as important as brushing your teeth regularly. Dental plaque is part of a complex ecosystem that includes different types of bacteria found in our mouth. These plaques can quickly regenerate after professional tooth cleaning. For this reason, after cleaning your teeth, your doctor advises you not to neglect regular brushing. If used correctly, plaque food residues in places beyond the reach of the toothbrush, that is, under the gum line and between the teeth, can be removed by flossing.

How to use dental floss?

Floss is cut about 2 inches long (35-40cm). It gets entangled in the middle fingers. Thumbs can be used on the upper teeth, index fingers can be used on the lower teeth. It is entered between the teeth. Surfaces facing each other with opposite sides between each tooth should be cleaned separately. Dental floss is first placed under the gum to clean the surface of a tooth, and then the surface of the tooth next to it in the same cavity facing that cavity. The Form ”C” is given. Gently run the floss over all the surfaces of the teeth and make sure that the rope crosses the gum line. Do not strain dental floss, otherwise sensitive gum tissue may be cut or tissue crushing. Use clean parts of the floss as you move from tooth to tooth. To remove the floss, perform the same back and forth movement to move the thread up and out of your tooth.
